#016 FORT PAULL.

HISTORY:-
The outer wall at Fort Paull Battery, roughly 20 feet high but hidden from the river by an embankment which is equally as high, creating a sort of moat which these days is almost completely overgrown with hawthorn bushes and very dark. Henry VIII commissioned the site's first fort in 1542, in order to protect the valuable Humber Ports nearby.
INVESTIGATION:
We started this investigation quite late after complications earlier on in the evening. We arrived at our destination “FORT PAULL” around 12.30am.
We parked up the car & headed towards the old fort walking through a thick wooded area. We monitored the equipment as we headed towards the walls of the fort which had now come into view.
We scrambled down into what appeared to be a moat & headed parallel with the wall calling out for any spirits to come forward while monitoring the equipment for any alterations in readings. As we walked around the walls, we tried different techniques, banging on the walls asking for a response & musical enticement…We were all very nervous as we battled through the overgrown thistles & trees at the base of the walls.
Half way round we headed out into an opening to reveal the river Humber. We didn’t get any positive readings around the walls but we headed on to begin our next vigil.
We decided to have a small break while discussing a new experiment which we planned to try at this location…Craig kindly volunteered to test it out.
The new experiment partly takes in the blindfolding vigil but with a twist…the unfortunate, but willing person would be tied & blindfolded…this allowing for the psychological part of the brain to start working & seeing what affect it has with experiencing paranormal activity.
We guided Craig to a small secluded set of trees & tied him up ready for him to begin calling out for any activity…meanwhile Rob.J & Sara headed off to an underground bunker not too far away.
I was at a point halfway between the two locations for safety reasons for any help requested. After a short time, Craig radioed requesting that he to finish his vigil after experiencing like someone sighing in his ear. I headed back towards Craig. Meanwhile Rob & Sara were hearing footsteps & feeling quite nervous in the underground bunker.
While me & Craig were collecting the equipment after finishing his vigil, the weather dramatically changed & a heavy rain came in so we decided to quickly head to the underground bunker to join Rob & Sara.
We decided to call out & see if we could get the footsteps caught on a sound recording but unfortunately we didn't...we decided to form a circle & call out after that....During this vigil Sara started to feel faint & had to leave the circle. We took her outside of the bunker to get some fresh air. We all decided to try getting activity once more before we went home, so with Sara feeling well enough..we continued......
After a short while of musical enticement, banging & calling out, we decided to call it a night & head back to the car. As usual we enjoyed a sing & dance while traveling home in the car. We may return here again in the future to discover if anything paranormal is really here......
