HISTORY
Monument to the Battle of Marston Moor: The monument marks the approximate centre of the battlefield. Local legend has it that the distinctive clump of trees in the background is the viewpoint from which Cromwell directed his army. Marston Moor was the largest battle fought in Britain.
On the 2nd July 1644 another battle in the Civil War took place on Marston Moor. Phantom soldiers are said to have been seen on the moor many times. In 1932 Arthur Wright was driving through the moor when he suddenly saw a group of long haired men in cloaks and Cavalier hats who suddenly vanished. This visitation was again seen in 1968 & 1992.
INVESTIGATION
We decided to travel away from Hull & visit Marston Moor. A Battle site from 1644 associated with Oliver Cromwell.
We arrived at location at around 10pm & discovered the Monument which marks the area of the battle site.We took a few photos before setting off to find Cromwell Clump - a small wooded area apparently highly haunted.
We could see a unusual light in the distance near Cromwell Clump...After walking for a few minutes we came upon a fire burning with a bright orange light overlooking this. We ventured on but fear overcome us....stood in the distance, were black figures standing around the fire. All were not moving, still as anything in the night put a few of us on edge, We spent a few minutes watching to work out what was going on around this group.
We got the courage to head for this fire but before we got chance to start walking... frighteningly the orange light iractically started flashing around & we viewed a ghostly face in the smoke as this was happening. This was Disturbing & we agreed to get back to the car ASAP.
We have recently found out from History, that what we witnessed was in fact a Wiccan ritual. We are looking into more history of these Rituals & will update this when we have more info.
Back at the car the orange glow of the light slowly disappeared so we all decided again to attempt to get to Cromwell Clump.We slowly walked towards our location & we approached the spot were the orange light was coming from to find 2 horse shoes on the fire & 4 new looking bullet shells. We decided to head back as we didn't want to end up face to face with a gun !!
Arriving back at the monument we decided to go down this other track heading to the north side of the battle site.All the time we were at this location we kept hearing a drum-like banging. Walking north we came upon the pond which is known as the burial site.
Here we got a lot of spine chilling action!!, We heard groaning noises coming from the pond,We had bushes blowing, when there was no wind, we heard peoples voices, more banging, tunes playing & then we got this heavy fog move in,
What was going on.....where there animals about which we couldn't see for explanation of the bushes moving?? The temperature also dropped & we had this really bad smell arrive.We were very disturbed but excited at the same time...
Was there something here?......We certainly believe so & we will be returning to this location in the future...this being that we do have to remember to look at logical explanations so we will be returning as we get new equipment to back up our experiences.
This was our final location before we headed back to Kingston Upon Hull. Unfortunately on this investigation we didn't get chance to do any EVP recordings but we will be returning to this location in the future.

FIFTH INVESTIGATION

INVESTIGATION
We re-visited this site to visit the burial site location. After research from the previous investigation we discovered that the burial site wasn't where we first thought it was so this investigation was to discover the burial site.
Unfortunately we didn't reach our destination but we did get some good activity. This was the first time using our new equipment which was our EMF meter,hygro-thermometer & laser sighted thermometer. We got some good readings, one unusual thing which happened was starting from the Monument the temperature was 7.7 degrees Celsius, by the time we got down towards the end of blood lane the temp had dropped to 2.8.
This seemed unusual but even more strange was every time the temperature dropped the EMF meter would start beeping & showing a major reading !!
Our baseline tests showed a major difference from start to finish as well. We do have to remember it was an outdoor location but things were very unusual & the way the investigators felt as well was very spine chilling.
At the very first point of arrival, I heard Gun like sounds & throughout the night Rich heard Drumming like sounds.
From both investigations at this location, the full team agree that it is full of activity. We will be back at this location for a 3rd time in the future.
