FIRST LOCATION

 St Margaret's Church, Long Riston

Long Riston's church has being around since before 1170,it was called St Margaret's by 1434. Like most English churches it has been much altered over the centuries. The church is built largely of boulders, but has been patched with brick overtime.

The thick walls & the proportions of the nave suggest the church's 12th-century origin, although both surviving doorways are of the 14th century & the windows are 15th-century & much renewed. The tower was added in the 14th century.

A restoration of the church in 1855 included the moving of the porch from the centre to the westernmost bay of the nave & the building of the vestry. The tower was restored in 1881. The churchyard was enlarged in 1891.

 INVESTIGATION:

We arrived at location around 11.30pm, not really knowing what to expect. This was after all.. just something to pass the night away!! We had come equipped with a laptop for EVP recordings & we all had our mobile phones out...ready to capture any spooky goings on... We had briefly researched how to ghost hunt before we set off but still we didn't feel confident heading into a Churchyard not really understanding what we could  possibly witness.

We headed through the gate & stood still... seeing the gloomy outline of the church in front of us. We choose to walk around the perimeter of the churchyard before heading ftowards the main door of the church.  Arriving at the gates to the main Porch, We slowly opened them to reveal an ideal spot to carry out some EVP recordings.

We stayed at this location for about an hour before heading off to our 2nd location.

SECOND LOCATION

St Mary's Church , Swine

We believe there was a church at Swine from around 1086 becuase it is recorded a priest lived on the manor. The church, so called St Mary's from the 12th century was formerly a cruciform building, the eastern arm of which was occupied by the parish church and the part west of the crossing tower by the priory church.

INVESTIGATION:

We arrived at our 2nd location just before 1am, We headed through the gates to reveal a long graveled path heading towards the church in the background. We all nervously edged towards the church taking step by step. We approached the church & least expecting it....the church struck 1am. Everyone jumped not expecting the church bells to ring early hours.

We kept walking down & approached the porch entrance of the church. We called out several times but unfortunately we didn't really pick up much activity except for a few bangs on the recordings.

We decided to depart this location after a short while, to head back to base... after returning back to base we did a EVP recording in our suspected haunted bathroom.

I volunteered to sit in the bath (Fully dressed of course lol) to try & pick up any      activity. I called out several times asking for a respond but unfortunately i didn't experience any activity while being in there. The recording began at 2.44am & finished at 2.49am.

We then tried 2 EVP recordings in the lounge area. One starting at 3.26am till 3.29am & the final recording starting at 3.46am,finishing at 3.51am.

All photos from the investigations are under "Photo gallery" section.

(We lost the EVP recordings due to technical reasons)
